A dialog between two artists from different generations whose lives were formed and deformed by their personal experience living under totalitarianism in Romania.
Max Tzinman displays a digital work which began as sculpture (3D to 2D), and explores the utopian concept of the "new man" claimed by communist propaganda - a seemingly brainwashed head, emerging through the loss of specific features of multiple heads. Eduard Andrei expresses his anxieties through (more) abstract works / collages incorporating found objects in the surface of the canvas (2D to 3D) and typed texts or handwritten fragments of his own poems. Both artists currently work and live in New York City.
